How does it work (ductless recirculating filtration)?
A mechanical fan draws smoke, grease and odour into the housing at the point of use. The air hits the polymer layer, then the aluminium condensation mesh which captures oil and grease splatter, then the activated carbon layer which absorbs odour and traps airborne toxins. The filtered air is returned to the room. Because the unit stands beside the cooktop rather than above it, it catches the plume at source before it can settle on walls or reach the smoke alarm.
How is this different from a cheaper alternative?
A generic fan or an open window disperses smoke but does not capture grease or odour, so both settle on surfaces and linger. A built-in rangehood needs ducting, wall mounting and landlord approval. This product is the specific combination of point-of-source capture plus sequenced triple-layer filtration in a ductless benchtop unit that needs no installation, which no fan, window or fixed hood offers.
Who is it for?
It is used by australian renters aged 22-45 in studios, one-bedroom apartments, granny flats, dorms, or share houses without a built-in rangehood, small-apartment cooks who cook flavour-heavy meals such as stir-fry, hot pot, or indoor grill, tenants who cannot get landlord approval for a ducted or wall-mounted hood, home cooks who cook indoor bbq or korean bbq regularly.
How often should I use it?
Daily - positioned by the internal database as daily kitchen infrastructure comparable to an air fryer or slow cooker.
What will I notice?
Smoke is cleared from the cooking area at source during cooking, grease is captured before it settles on walls, cabinets and splashbacks, cooking odours are absorbed so they do not linger overnight, the smoke alarm is less likely to trigger during normal cooking.
What is it made from?
ABS plastic and aluminium alloy.
Will it actually stop my smoke alarm going off?
The unit draws the rising plume in at source before it spreads to the alarm; a comparable competitor's customers report their detectors have not gone off in use.
Do I need to install it or get landlord approval?
It is a countertop, ductless recirculating unit that plugs straight in, with no wall mounting, ducting or permanent installation required.
Is there an Australian plug or will I need an adapter?
An AU mains plug is included in the box, unlike US-imported competitors that ship with a US plug.
What if it is not right for me?
